Through his previous work with the Azimut | Benetti Group, Maiora Yachts, AB Yachts, Splendid Yachting Charter / Sales / Management, and renowned marina operators, he has acquired comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in nearly all areas of the yacht industry.

During this time, he has inspected, appraised, purchased, and sold numerous yachts, overseen construction projects, and advised clients on a wide variety of yacht-related matters. As a result, he possesses comprehensive insight into the international yacht market and its diverse requirements.

When it comes to yachts, too, the asking price and the purchase price are two different things. Therefore, a purchase appraisal is a very useful basis for decision-making for both sellers and buyers.

So that you, as the seller, know what selling price you can realistically achieve for your boat, it’s advisable—especially now, given the oversaturated used boat market—to have a sales or appraisal report prepared. This will give you a concrete idea of what’s feasible, and above all, such valuation report is an excellent tool for the sale, as it not only indicates the realistic market value but also the actual condition of the boat, which is sure to inspire a great deal of confidence in potential buyers as well.

If you are considering purchasing a yacht and have essentially found a suitable vessel and have already thoroughly researched the type of yacht, it is always advisable to have your desired vessel inspected once more by a third party. In particular, the objective perspective of an independent person can, under certain circumstances, help prevent financial losses. The desire for a new yacht can easily cloud one’s objective judgment. Minor defects that the seller presents as unproblematic may later prove to be very costly. Thus, such a purchase appraisal provides an excellent basis for decision-making for a potential yacht buyer.

In our purchase appraisals, we use a comprehensive inspection to identify all relevant aspects of yachts and boats. This includes the type and duration of use, as well as condition, functionality, safety, and any necessary repair or maintenance costs that may be required.

It goes without saying that following the appraisal, we can provide competent and independent advice on all relevant aspects of a purchase or sale.

A valuation report includes a detailed and comprehensive inspection of the boat with regard to its condition. Unlike a pre-purchase inspection, a valuation report not only examines all components for general defects and damage, but also a cost-based calculation of the effort and scope of necessary repair work based on the list of defects is also included. Market-standard depreciation values also play a major role in a realistic valuation of a yacht and are taken into account.

Furthermore, based on the vessel’s data, a market analysis of comparable boats is conducted. Based on both sets of values, an estimated market value is then determined.

More and more insurance companies or leasing companies are shifting toward setting their premiums or leasing rates based on appraisals, and for policyholders, this can certainly serve as a basis for reducing the insured value, which, in the case of large yachts, can lead to significant savings .

Due to the tax issues in Croatia ahead of its upcoming EU accession in July 2013, independent and objective appraisals will likely play a major role.

If an expert assesses the damage for you and monitors your belongings until the repair work is completed, they can protect you from significant losses. The work is documented both photographically and in writing and can also be helpful in court.
